World Poker Tour (WPT) is a weekly televised series of about 13 poker tournaments worldwide. Started in 2003 and airs on the Travel Channel, the TV program features real casino events and has helped poker and poker players to gain a wider audience. Many Online poker sites today offer guaranteed seats to the WPT events. 
Greg Raymer bought those green, lizard-eye sunglasses in Disney World, something that will turn out to be one of the most famous sunglasses in the world of poker. He bagged the $5 million in the World Series of Poker championship in 2004, yes, with the sunglasses on.
What's ironic is that it was supposed to be a joke.
''But the first time I put them on,'' Raymer explains, ''a guy kind of freaked out. 'What the hell's going on?' And he threw his hand away. I'd raised him, and while he was thinking, I put the glasses on. He jumped out of his chair when he saw them,'' he added.
''At that point, I said there's a little something to these glasses other than a one-time joke. I continued to wear them when I played a hand. I've always found there are several opponents who are very uncomfortable. They don't want to play against you when you're wearing glasses,'' Raymer said.
However, some people thinks otherwise.
''There's never been a winning high-stakes player, a good high-stakes player, that's ever worn sunglasses, so we don't even face that,'' Barry Greenstein said.
''It's just for tournament goofballs,'' he added.
Well, the fact of the matter is, poker players with sunglasses on always hold a psychological advantage over all the poker players in the table. Of course, you can't see someone's facial expression whenever he has sunglasses on and facial expressions play a very important role in poker. Now I know it, now you know it, that's why I have my own sunglasses always on.
