Jamie Gold of BODOG POKER is the 2006 World Series of Poker champion winning the $12 million prize money and the diamond studded gold bracelet, final table was palyed August 10, 2006 at Harrah’s Rio All-Suite Casino. Gold, who battled eight days and 8,773 entrants of the $10,000 No Limit Texas Holdem Main Event, was chipleader since the beginning of the Final Table and his big chip count did held off til the end.
This guy is a former reality show producer and Hollywood talent agent. He started playing poker last year many times finishing in the money.
He once said he’s terrified of winning the WSOP not because he’s afraid of the millions of dollars he’d take home, but because he fears the fame that a victory will bring.
“I don’t want it,'’ Gold said. “I’ve seen what it’s done to other people. I’ve worked with actors from James Gandolfini to Felicity Huffman to Lucy Liu,” he said.
But there’s no escaping fame now after he’s declared the 2006 WSOP Champion.
