Anti-Online Gambling Bill Now A Law

Bush signs Anti Online Gambling BillUS President George Bush on Friday has signed the Port Security Bill, which includes the controversial Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, into law. promting online gambling companies to suspend its US operations as announced earlier.

Several online gaming companies, including Sportingbet and 888 Holdings, have said that they will suspend they’re US operations once the bill is signed into law.

True enough, on the same day the bill was signed, Sportingbet (which owns Paradise Poker) sold its U.S. sports betting, casino business and poker operations to Antigua-based Jazette Enterprises Ltd. for $1.

FireOne Group, the owner of FirePay online payment system, has announced it will suspend its US operations. That means US players can no longer use their service to send or receive monies from online gambling merchants.

Although another online payment company, Neteller, is firm on its decision to stay with the US market.

However, it is expected that in the next few days more online gmabling companies will announce their pullout from doing business with US players.
