Gus Hansen

Hansen is originally from Copenhagen, Denmark. This poker pro is a World Poker Tour final table fixture and learned to play poker in Santa Cruz, California. Known for his aggressive style with cards that some might think �unplayable�.

Gus is known to excel in at least ten different games and was a champion backgammon player before coming to poker. On the WPT, Gus continues to dominate the tables having won three tournaments in Season 1 and Season 2. During the first WPT season, he won two championships�the Bellagio Casino and the Commerce Casino. During the second season, he won the WPT�s PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

As of 2004, Hansen has won $1.8 million at tournaments. He is very selective in which tournaments he plays and generally only joins some of the larger buy-in events.
