World Poker Tour (WPT) is a weekly televised series of about 13 poker tournaments worldwide. Started in 2003 and airs on the Travel Channel, the TV program features real casino events and has helped poker and poker players to gain a wider audience.

Although WPT is relatively new to the poker world, it immediately became a household name associated with poker. When it first aired in March 2003, it gained an audience share of 900,000, and an estimated 1.1 viewers during the first World Poker Tour Championships.

Not only is the tournament fun to watch, this also gives the stars a chance to win for their favorite charities as well as a seat to the WPT Championships.
